Why must dbus and consolekit be added to default runlevel ? Is there a more official source than "it prevented someone from logging in"? According to Help:Funtoo_Editing_Guidelines, "Adding work-arounds to problems experienced No - open bug first on bug tracker.". -- Pytony (talk)

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/distributor-list/2012-January/msg00014.html "GDM is the primary consumer of ConsoleKit" its not a work around. http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/ConsoleKit/ <--- has dbus dependencies. look at the wordpress ebuild, it has work arounds from initial pulling from gentoo. its a good thing you messaged this i was going to post further work arounds because its ebuild has been broken, shipping with broken configs preventing installing. that sections news to me on the guidelines. Then why does gdm have a consolekit use flag? :P -- Pytony (talk)
IUSE: accessibility, audit, branding, fprint, +introspection, ipv6, plymouth, smartcard, +systemd, tcpd, test, wayland, xinerama, debug

Use flags settings: -accessibility, -audit, -branding, -fprint, +introspection, +ipv6, -plymouth, -smartcard, -systemd, +tcpd, -test, -wayland, -xinerama, -debug

mine doesnt? i looked at the ebuild and it looks like systemd automatically flags consolekit as a dependency? im not that great with ebuilding so i may be wrong.Threesixes (talk) 19:37, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I was on my cellphone so I checked out on [znurt](http://en.znurt.org/gnome-base/gdm/useflags) which told me gnome-base/gdm hase a consolekit useflag. However, I just checked out the ebuild as well, it seems that gdm relies on consolekit only if systemd useflag is **disabled**. But who cares about systemd. :D -- Pytony (talk)
