Funtoo Linux Optimization Proposal: Funtoo System Config-Blobs

Add ability to manage all kinds of system configuration with use of a helper program and for example master-less saltstack.

Use salt to manage stuff in funtoo.

Prerequisities

These packages must/should be installed:

   app-admin/salt - mandatory
   app-shells/zsh - mandatory
   sys-apps/lsb-release - mandatory
   app-portage/eix - optional

Changes to /etc/salt/minion (config file):

file_client: local

file_roots:
  base:
    - /etc/salt/salt-repo

State definition files: Clone this repository into /etc/salt/salt-repo
