LINGUAS告訴Portage該用哪個語言(說話的語言)來編譯系統和應用程式 (像是OpenOffice就會使用到LINGUAS變數)，如果你想要使用英語一般的情況下應該不需要更改他，但如果你使用法文French (fr)或是德文German (de)之類的語言，請正確地把LINGUAS設定好:
