Please do not delete this page. In this Day and Age, people that are willing to go through the hassle of installing funtoo (and compiling their own kernel...) might want to have disk encryption. Yes the page is outdated but that's something that can be changed. As long as there is no alternative on how to use full disk encryption, please leave this page for references. --Ix (talk) 00:10, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Can we add info on full disk encryption into the official install docs without making things too convoluted? This would be preferred to keeping this doc around just for encryption.

I agree that tutorial is detailed but it is extremely exhausting and rather inaccurate, because never checked. For a disk encryption, there is a separate page for it. It was probably one of the oldest page in wiki. So, all changes, updates goes there. http://www.funtoo.org/Rootfs_over_encrypted_lvm

The problem with the Rootfs_over_encrypted_lvm page is that it does not play well with the current Installation guide. It's not clear when to jump off from the Installation to the rootfs page and back. For a newbie, that needs more than a single reminder, this is complicated. I would then suggest to update the rootfs page and give hints in the Installation guide ("If you opt for encrypted lvm, see <link-to-chapter-in-rootfs>") and vice versa.
This might actually be the better option as it allows an opt-in for other optional features in a similar way.
I see no complication at all. I see tutorial quite complicated to read. If separate encyption is bad, then change, tweak, make it good. Install guide just need some info and citation link to wiki about encryption.

--Danielv (talk) 10:53, June 24, 2015 (UTC) Please don't delete this, as it is very detailed. Thanks!

Updating this page.

I removed the tag suggesting deletion, as I can tell that a lot of work was put into the page. It would be nice to see the page 'wikified' (use the instructions provided at Editing Guidelines).
